There are some significant changes this year, so make sure you read the rules carefully before entering. We've highlighted a few of the major changes below:
• The wedding will not air on TV on NBC 10. This allows the couples to plan their own special day without intruding cameras in their face! But don't be fooled. The winning couple will be well-known through promotional TV spots and online announcements. So they won't be completely anonymous.
• The winning couple will receive a wedding gift pack with gift certificates. This allows the couple to pick their own date (based on availability).
• There will no longer be a public voting phase. The couple will be able to pick their own ceremony location, wedding date and wedding styles.
• Since the winning couple can pick the location for the ceremony in any state they choose, we're able to open the contest up to same-sex couples.
The contest kicks off at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 28. The entry phase ends at 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 31 and the winning couple will be announced on January 12, 2011.
