First Name:
Jenarita
City:
Coventry
State:
RI
How did you get engaged?:
Brandon planned a wonderful and romatic day. We started off at the Bank of America skating center in Providence for a few rounds on the ice (which was cut short because of the zambonie and time restrictions). We then went to TeaLuxe on Thayer Street for a fresh cup of hot tea before heading to the Blue Grotto for some fine Italian cooking on Federal Hill. Afterwards Brandon took Jena to see Beauty and the Beast (one of her all time favorite Disney Classics) perform at the Providence Performing Arts Center. The play itself was magical, but Brandon made the show truley spectacular when during the middle of intermission in front of everyone he got down on one knee and proposed (using Jena's grandmother's ring which he had reset). Everyone around them enjoyed this magical event as well and many people were congratulating Jena and Brandon and patting their backs after the second half started back up. After the show, Brandon and Jena recreated the moment on the stairs of the lobby for a few photo ops, and the entire building was clapping. Jena heard a little girl tell her mom how romantic it was and couldn't help but think of that small girl as her younger self. Afterwards, Brandon and Jena went back to her parents house to share the news (which they already knew since he had gotten their blessing) and a bottle of Jena's favorite wine was sitting of the table (a wine she had not been able to find in Rhode Island). He was determined to make the night perfect and so he hunted down a Rhode Island distrubuter. It was a perfect way to end a perfect evening.
Tell us why you should win a free wedding:
Brandon and Jena are very hardworking people. Both interested in human services, Brandon works for West Bay Residential with special needs adults, and Jen is currently in school at Rhode Island College for Elementary Education and Middle School Education while also serving the public as a photo lab supervisor for CVS. They just bought their first home in Coventry and already have a family of two cats and a brand new puppy which they just rescued. They put in endless hours at work and school and still manage to find time to love one another and spend time with one another. With life being as busy and crazy as it is, they are trying to plan a wedding, which is turning out to be much more expensive than they thought. In August, Jen and her parents, two of her bridesmaids, and her Aunt went up to Boston and slept outside of the Hynes Convention Center for 12 hours in order to participate in the Running of the Brides (great prices for great gowns). Jen and her crew were 8th in line, and got a wonderful deal on a dress! However, Jen and Brandon are still trying to plan the rest of their wedding. With a limited budget, wedding planning is becoming a tough task while balancing full-time school, full-time work, full-time mommying/daddying to three pets, and being there for friends and family. Jena and Brandon deserve this wedding giveaway because they do so much for everyone around them. They give everything they have, and don't expect things back in return.
